Summary of Position

Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and marketing, the Director of Admissions, Transfers is responsible for the development and execution of strategic outreach to transfer students on the Durham campus, including interacting with community college officials to promote collaborations and recruitment of students and leading efforts to develop, implement and maintain articulation agreements with CCSNH schools and other partner schools. This position is responsible for serving prospective domestic and international transfer undergraduate students. The position leads collaboration with other members of the transfer team and other teams in admissions office to plan and manage all transfer programming, including all recruiting and yield activities and to develop communications plans for prospective transfer students and advisors.

Duty/Responsibility

Leadership of transfer recruitment:
  • Builds relationships with community colleges. Develops new and innovative ways to collaborate with community colleges and prospective transfer student populations.
  • Oversees transfer file review and transfer credit evaluation policies and process.
  • Creates, reviews, updates, and maintains comprehensive articulation agreements. Formalizes articulation agreements and oversees the maintenance of articulation data on transferable courses.
  • Spearheads the development of UNH’s new transfer center in collaboration with the office of the registrar, academic advisors and with input from academic units.
  • Uses market research to suggest new in-demand transfer articulation agreements and then work with the related academic departments to create them
  • Collaborates with UNH’s marketing team and the student engagement team to promote transfer articulation agreements.
  • Collaborates with the student experience team to oversee the creation of transfer-specific events.
  • Collaborates with teams both within and outside of admissions to constantly evaluate and improve the transfer experience
  • Liaises with college leadership and department and academic advising as necessary.
  • Delivers engaging and dynamic presentations at key feeder institutions and community colleges. Includes both virtual recruitment and in person recruitment.
  • Leads the development and presentation of both virtual and on-campus transfer events such as transfer info sessions, transfer admitted student programs, etc.
  • Supervises transfer admissions officers and operations staff.
  • Participates in and contributes to meetings, training programs, and the department’s overall operational goals.
  • Seek to establish collaborations with on and off-campus organizations and offices that focus on the educational advancement of multi-cultural or under-represented transfer students.
  • Coordinates with UNHM for transfer recruitment, includes liaising with and supporting the transfer team on the Manchester campus to develop and promote articulation agreements in a coordinated way.
  • Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned

Duty/Responsibility

Recruitment of new transfer students
  • Represents the university to community colleges, transfer advisors and professional transfer organizations
  • Meets, speaks with and counsels prospective transfer students and other constituencies to explain pertinent transfer admissions policies and procedures; advise on credentials; answer questions on academic programs and campus life.
  • Attends college nights, transfer and college fairs and other transfer recruitment events and programs.
  • Conducts group information sessions that promote and explain the transfer admissions process and the university.
  • Schedules meetings and appointments with community college partners, transfer advisors, prospective transfer students and other constituencies as well as makes hotel, rental car and other travel arrangements.
  • Counsel applicants pre- or post-admission decision; perform essential and necessary duties to develop and maintain relationships with constituencies: program evaluation, email and written correspondence, telephone communication, social media, etc.
  • Lead special transfer- related projects and other duties as assigned
