Job Description: | The Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) at the University of Florida is seeking multiple mental health professionals with experience in collegiate mental health who thrive in an environment that values collaboration and support among team members and will work with us to foster the development of our students in all of its diversity through compassion, empowerment, advocacy, and hope as well as help us nurture a healthy and healing campus environment for all. This is a non-tenure track position. We are seeking generalists at any point in their professional development with a strong interest in working with domestic and international students in a university counseling center. The clinical assistant professor’s primary responsibility is to provide direct clinical services, including group, individual and couples counseling to University of Florida students. Potential colleagues should have experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns and levels of severity. Clinical faculty members also provide consultation to UF faculty and staff and are engaged in providing professional training and teaching to graduate students, doctoral interns, and post-doctoral fellows. Similarly, all faculty take part in outreach and prevention efforts. Faculty also are expected to participate in the center’s model of shared governance through the coordination of specific initiatives, membership or chairing of committees or task forces. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: working with international students, assessment/psychological testing, men’s issues, substance abuse, autism spectrum, trauma, psychotherapy and outreach with BIPOC, and Black, Queer psychology. This position may be deemed an essential employee with additional required responsibilities during a declared emergency. About the Counseling and Wellness Center Our staff consists of 57 clinicians in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and counselor education. CWC is home to a large training program for graduate students in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education and a doctoral psychology internship accredited by the American Psychological Association. Members of our staff are cohesive, collegial, engaged, and share a passion for working in collegiate mental health. The CWC is a learning organization as clinical service, training, outreach, and professional development are informed by research, local data, and benchmarking with national trends and peer institutions. The CWC identifies closely with the vision, values, and guiding principles of the Division of Student Life. Expected Salary: | Starting salary $70K and commensurate to years of experience in the field of mental health. |
Minimum Requirements: | Clinical Assistant Professors must (1) have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology or counseling from an APA or CACREP accredited doctoral program; and (2) be licensed as a mental health professional or psychologist in the state of Florida within two years of employment. |
