Position Qualification


Position Summary
The Department of Neurological Sciences in the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) invites applications for a tenure-leading position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of central auditory processing in neurodegenerative disorders. This recruitment is a collaboration with the Translational Hearing Center in the neighboring Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Applicants should not have received prior R01-level funding (>$210,000 per year in direct costs). Special consideration will be given to those utilizing various translational approaches to auditory diseases, including genomic predisposition, and/or etiologies of hearing loss, animal models and clinical applications. Appointees will be expected to conduct a vigorous independent research program, obtain extramural funding and participate in graduate student teaching. Generous laboratory space with equipment, competitive start-up funding, and state-of-the art core facilities will be provided. Applicants should have a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree; postdoctoral training with significant research accomplishments and scholarly promise.
