Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Manager in Cancer Health Equity at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Administration for the Cancer Health Equity Center of Excellence, the Program Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, improving, evaluating, and overall management of the Center for Cancer Health Equity (“Center”), including supervision and direction of personnel, resources, activities, and budget.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations, financial and administrative issues pertaining to the Center.
  • Initiate and set goals for programs and activities according to the strategic objectives of the Center.
  • Provides strategic assessment of Center programs and activities.
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to plans and schedules.
  • Develop and monitor Center budget and operations to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications on efforts for the Center including digital and physical materials such as the Impact Report.
  • Manage Center committee meetings.
  • Provide leadership for detailed and accurate reporting and presentations on performance and advise how to best achieve
    objectives.
  • Develop progress reporting including an annual report per the Center strategic plan.
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and presentations that support the Center.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or a health-related discipline; plus five (5) years of relevant experience in public health, healthcare, academia, project management, or related services. 
  • Additional related professional experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. 
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Outstanding organizational, oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. 
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics. 
  • Applicable knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting. 
  • A business acumen with a strategic ability. 
  • Analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities. 
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters’ Degree.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
