Position Summary

The successful applicant will join the Wang Lab in the Precision Health Program, Department of Radiology, College of Human Medicine.  The research team is in search of a member to contribute through: Design, synthesis, and testing of various image-guided nanocarriers for drug delivery to endogenous pancreatic bata-cells, transplanted islets, and differentiated stem cells for diabetes treatment, performing in vitro experiments in islet cell isolation and induced pluripotent stem cell differentiation, followed by testing of their response to the delivered nanodrugs, performing cell transplantation in diabetic animal models, in vivo imaging of drug delivery using multimodality imaging systems and imaging data analysis, summarizing research data, and participating in manuscript writing and submission.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine


Minimum Requirements

PHD in Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine and 2-3 years postdoctoral research experience focused on type 1 diabetes cell therapy.


Desired Qualifications

Training and experience with culture and differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells into islet organoids and in vivo imaging of islet organoid transplantation for type 1 diabetes cell therapy.
