Job Summary

Under the supervision of Dr. Casaletto, the Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (ACRC) will have the opportunity to delve into cutting-edge research on the relationship between lifestyle factors and protein markers of neural functioning.

The ACRC will be responsible for maintaining and continuing to recruit for an intervention study of over 100 cognitively normal adults, examining how factors from lifestyle to genetics contribute to neural functioning and the aging process in the absence of neurodegenerative disease. The aCRC may also be responsible for assisting with longitudinal healthy aging projects examining cognitive decline, vascular disease, and inflammation, and contributing to studies of different cognitive domains in healthy aging, MCI, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Applicants should have a strong interest in neuroscience, solid research experience, comfort working with human subjects, and excellent organizational skills. Assistant CRC duties will include (but are not limited to) data entry and management, scheduling/recruitment of participants, CHR/IRB upkeep, and managing the day-to-day function of the project.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications

• HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows
• Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment; project management and coordination skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, co-workers, & physicians

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish language fluency
• Experience working with patients or study subjects
• Experience and interest in elderly populations
• Training/experience in the conduct of clinical research trials in an academic research environment
• Knowledge of CHR/IRB policy and procedure
• Proficiency in data analyses software (R, SPSS, Stata, MatLab)
• Willingness to perform administrative duties
