Job Summary:
Teach courses in Education (in both face-to-face and online teaching formats), consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. Participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and College initiatives. Travel for field placements, observation of field teaching, and community relationship building. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Education (from a regionally accredited college or university)
- Significant experience teaching elementary, middle, or high school.
- Experience as teaching faculty in a post-secondary classroom setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Community college teaching experience
Experience with community relationship development in the field of Education
Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Education
Teacher certification
Demonstrated continued professional development in Education.
Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal changes in instruction and teacher preparation.
