Location: Akron - Onsite


Summary:

The Simulation Education Coordinator provides pediatric and adult education to simulation clients.

Responsibilities:


1. Assesses, designs, implements and evaluates educational needs and programs.

2. Utilizes simulators both as an operator and an educator.

3. Provide for the proper care and maintenance of all equipment and supplies making sure that all equipment is in working order.

4. Participates in the programming of simulators and the coordination of debriefing sessions.

5. Provides leadership and staff development through education, consultation, and scholarly endeavors.

6. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.

7. Other duties as required.

Other information:

Technical Expertise
1. Experience in healthcare education is required.

2. Experience in a pediatric clinical focus is required.

3. Experience in clinical critical care [PICU, NICU, ED] is preferred.

4. Experience in teaching and utilizing adult learning principles in adult or pediatric settings is required.

5. Experience in continuous performance improvement and learning principles is required.

6. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.

7. Experience in healthcare is preferred.

8. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred.

2. Certification: Licensed Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist is required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certification preferred.

3. Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.

4. Years of experience supervising: None.
