The five incoming faculty are expected to synergize with existing faculty to build an internationally-recognized program focused on developing integrated systems and analytical methods that can predict in vivo responses from in vitro systems. Areas of focus include organoid biology, microanalytical systems (organ-on-chip), molecular and physiological pharmacology, and artificial intelligence/machine learning.

As part of this cluster, the Departments of Clinical Science and Molecular Biomedical Sciences invite applications for a 12-month state funded tenure track position at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level in LARGE ANIMAL PHYSIOLOGY. Organ system is open but preference will be given to areas of strengths such as gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular or neural physiology. Applicants should have a track record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

The new faculty member will be expected to establish a successful interdisciplinary research program, and actively participate in the veterinary and graduate teaching programs. This position will be ideally poised to complement and collaborate with the pharmacokinetic, pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic, pharmaceutical disposition, and regenerative medicine expertise of existing faculty, to collaborate with other members of the Translational Predictive Biology cluster and other faculty in the college and university, and to participate in NC State’s university-wide Comparative Medicine Institute (CMI). Joining the College of Veterinary Medicine offers unique access to clinical faculty in a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital as well as outstanding research faculty affiliated with the CVM, the CMI, and other university-wide Chancellor’s Excellence Faculty Clusters (CFEP). The specific teaching requirements will be tailored to the expertise of the individual and the needs of the college.
