Job Description

The Accounting Department at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business invites applications for a full-time, clinical faculty position in tax accounting, beginning in September 2023.
 

Primary Duties Include:
  • Teaching six courses a year in undergraduate and graduate courses in taxation and other accounting subjects. Courses will include Tax Accounting, Advanced Tax, Tax Service Learning and either Financial Accounting or Managerial Accounting.
  • Advising accounting majors with course registration and career development.
  • Engaging with the accounting department, college and university on curriculum development and service toward building an equitable and diverse academic environment.
  • Active engagement with the accounting profession.
  • Clinical appointments will be without tenure and are not tenure-track appointments.

The Accounting Department offers a well-regarded undergraduate major in accounting and supports the college’s undergraduate and graduate programs with core and elective courses. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax, M.B.A., or master’s degree in a closely related field (U.S. or foreign equivalent)
  • CPA license
  • Prior experience or demonstrated ability to communicate and teach in an educational institution or corporate/executive setting
  • Significant experience working in taxation.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement
Candidates should show strong promise to contribute to the intellectual and practical lives of students and other stakeholders and to remain current in the field through professional practice, content creation, and engagement with the accounting profession and/or regional business community. Doing so entails a commitment to play an integral role in the Opus College of Business and its mission to develop “effective, principled business leaders who think globally, act ethically and create enduring value for society.”
