Job Description
The Department of Communication Studies at Northeastern University invites applications for a non-tenure track position teaching courses such as Principles of Advertising Practices, Advanced Copywriting, Creative Strategy, Digital Advertising/Public Relations, Social Media Strategy, Social Media Analytics and Sports Promotion. We welcome a variety of disciplinary and methodological approaches, but we are particularly interested in candidates with a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge and who engage with complementary fields such as journalism, media production, marketing, and business. We are seeking candidates with knowledge and experience using a variety of digital communication platforms for strategic communications and engaging diverse and/or underrepresented audiences, and who will contribute to Department and College curricular developments across disciplinary lines. The position carries a 3-3 teaching load and includes responsibility for multiple sections of Advertising Practices and related courses.
 
Qualifications
To be considered, candidates must have: (1) A Ph.D. in Advertising, Communication Studies or related field, or a M.A. with relevant professional experience by the appointment start date; (2) at least one year of experience teaching advertising and marketing communications-related courses; and (3) a record of scholarly activity (presentations at academic conferences and/or published research) or equivalent professional activity. This position is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor (commensurate with qualifications/experience).
