TRIO VUB Advisor - Rapid City, SD
Job Description
Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, NE is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of TRIO Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) Advisor at the Rapid City, SD site.
Responsibilities: Provide services to TRIO VUB eligible veterans including required bookkeeping, direct service provision to participants, and coordination of program activities with related college services. Serve as a liaison between the program, colleges, and various veterans' organizations and agencies. Coordinate and facilitate the activities of the TRIO VUB Program according to grant guidelines, ensure annual objectives are met in compliance with the US Department of Education (DOE) guidelines and regulations, and complete necessary reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
Demonstrated strong organizational and planning skills
Demonstrated ability to create and sustain an inclusive and welcoming environment for historically underrepresented and marginalized populations
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external individuals
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC's vehicle insurance
Preferred:
Training in working with disadvantaged populations
Training in adult advising services
Training in financial aid/literacy
Two years of experience working with a diverse population, preferably veterans and low-income adults
Two years of experience conducting workshops, teaching, training, etc.
Experience in documentation of services
Experience handling multiple confidential files
Demonstrated ability to operate various software systems, including Microsoft and Colleague
Salary: Starts at $19.33 per hour with excellent benefits.
Start Date: Immediate.
