Postdoctoral Fellow in Computational Biology - Zhou Lab

Job Description

The Zhou lab at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is looking for postdoctoral fellows enthusiastic to work at the intersection of computational biology and AI. We work on building the next generation of computational methods for prediction, understanding, and design of the genome (topics include 3D genome organization, chromatin organization, transcriptional regulation, single-cell genomics, and protein structure), with an open attitude toward future research opportunities in AI for science.

The Zhou lab (https://zhoulab.io ) works at the intersection of machine learning and genomics.  We are interested in understanding biology through data-driven computational approaches, and our current focus is decoding the regulatory logic of the genome at the sequence level. We develop and apply cutting-edge AI techniques for science, and use them to drive future discoveries. Our past research has developed computational methods for understanding the 3D genome, chromatin organization, transcriptional regulation, and single-cell omics. Dr. Zhou is a recipient of the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, a CPRIT scholar, and a Lupe Murchison foundation endowed scholar.

We are committed to doing innovative science as well as your career development. In addition to fostering an ideal environment for transformative research, we are committed to prepare you for your future scientific endeavor.

Ideal candidates should have Ph.D. or equivalent degrees in Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Biology, or a related field at the expected start time. For exceptional candidates, prior research experience in computational research or in biology is optional. Please email your CV, a brief description of your previous work, and your future research interests to jian.zhou@utsouthwestern.edu .

UT Southwestern Medical Center is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Women, minorities, veterans and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
