Summary of Position

Reporting to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, The Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Director of Admissions is responsible for providing leadership in developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive recruitment, admissions, and enrollment plans consistent with the strategic enrollment goals and mission of the university.

The successful candidate will:
  • Collaborate with the UNH VP for Enrollment Management and the Deans of all undergraduate colleges, including UNH’s satellite campus in Manchester and online division, on the development and implementation of undergraduate strategic enrollment management plans to inform enrollment strategies and data-informed evidence-based enrollment decisions utilizing best practices in admissions and enrollment management.
  • Lead the team that identifies, contacts, and enrolls an undergraduate student body; directing the day-to-day operations of the undergraduate recruitment and admissions staff by overseeing the following initiatives: first-year recruitment, transfer recruitment, international recruitment, application review, recruitment and enrollment events, admissions processing, admissions communications, yield, and anti-summer melt activities.
  • Be responsible for the development and oversight of the recruitment and admissions staff, and cultivating a positive, team-oriented environment, as well as the development and implementation of policies and procedures required to ensure the University enrollment goals are met for new undergraduate students.
  • Be innovative and adept at promoting current academic programs, as well as making recommendations for new recruitment ideas, and enrollment strategies that align with the University’s mission, resources, and market demand across all campuses of UNH.
  • Serve students within a three-campus environment and will be responsible for the development and support of a collaborative and well-connected undergraduate admissions unit that ensures an excellent student experience.
  • Be responsible for the undergraduate recruitment marketing plan and execution, partnering closely with UNH Marketing in ideating enrollment marketing efforts that deliver successful outcomes for UNH.
  • Continue to build upon the University’s success in recruiting and matriculating an academically qualified and diverse student body by providing strong, creative leadership in enrollment planning and a student-centered approach to recruitment and admission.
  • Collaborate with admissions leaders of the student experience team and the campus visit program, applicant communications and enrollment systems, and recruitment. They will engage in long-term planning and data-driven evaluation as well as resource assessment and management.
  • Provide leadership and direction that support a high-touch admissions and enrollment process, admissions communications, as well as a high-quality campus event program designed to increase both student interest and enrollment.
  • Supervise the development of budgets and expenditures for recruitment and enrollment activities and on and off-campus events. Representing the Office of Admissions and University at major functions both in- and out-of-state to promote the University to a variety of constituents in a positive and professional manner.
  • Work closely with Deans, associate deans, and other faculty as well as non-academic campus departments to achieve departmental-level goals and to provide quality services that are consistent with the goals of the department and University.
  • Model, promote, and ensure exceptional service delivery to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors, and the UNH community at large.

Expected experience and qualities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • An earned Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of enrollment related experience in higher education institutions.
  • Experience with Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, International Admissions, and Enrollment Marketing.
  • Ability to provide significant leadership in managing relationships with a variety of partners around campus, USNH, CCSNH, and statewide agencies.
  • Demonstrated record of success in growing enrollments, team building, and collaboration efforts.
  • Relevant experience with the development and use of data and analytics, and an in-depth knowledge of current policy, enrollment trends, technology, and strategic higher education practices to make informed decisions.
  • Evidence of working as a team member with a student-centered educational philosophy.
  • History of supervisory experience including staff recruitment, development, and management.
  • Significant experience in planning, change management, problem solving, and organizing processes and people.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the acumen to persuasively articulate UNH’s mission, programs, impact, and goals to diverse audiences, both internal and external.
