Job Description
Montgomery College accepts applications for a non-credit, contract faculty position in Financial Literacy to teach at the Workforce Development and Continuing Education Personal Finance Academy. Applications may be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Teach/facilitate classes – Financial Literacy. Classes are delivered online via Zoom and in person -- daytime and in the evenings.
- Cover topics in Financial Literacy: money management, budgeting, keeping track of income/expenses, banking, paying bills online, managing credit, paying off loans, avoiding scams, and investing.
- Develop curricula and PowerPoint slides with relevant information.
- Take attendance and post grades.
- Apply culturally relevant and empathetic strategies to the teaching and learning process.
- Participate in meeting with team members and partners, as needed.
- Promote students’ active learning and engagement in online.
Required Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. Degree in Business, Finance or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of experience delivering courses in Financial Literacy.
- In-depth knowledge if money management and finance. Modern tools for managing money.
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, the community college philosophy and mission.
- Ability to integrate technology into course delivery. Experience delivering training on Zoom.
- Ability to teach in a multicultural setting.
- Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to contribute to the Colleges strategic plan of inclusion.
- Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus)*. Montgomery College (MC) provides an MC e-mail account and access to the learning platform, password-protected faculty sections of the website, college listservs, and other faculty communications tools. *If you do not have access to a personal computer, please notify the department chair at the time of interview. Subject to available funds, the college may be able to provide temporary access to resources.
