Volunteer Program Coordinator (REMOTE / Part Time)

Job Description

The COPD Foundation is seeking a part-time paid (maximum 25 hours per week) program professional for a position that will focus on global volunteer recruitment, cultivation and advocacy training and mobilization. The individual will be responsible for growing and managing the COPD Foundation volunteer program including developing recruitment and training/informational materials and webinars, interacting with top tier advocates and responding to organizational needs for volunteer and advocate engagement.

The individual will coordinate and collaborate with the Chief Community Engagement Officer to develop and maintain a comprehensive list of involvement opportunities throughout the organization for individual and group engagement. This will be achieved by working across the organization to identify opportunities to embed advocacy and volunteer messages and to improve volunteer recruitment and engagement success.

Fundamentals for Success:

Bachelor’s degree in a political science, health administration, public health or government affairs related area preferred, but not required.

Experience or background in volunteer recruitment in civic organizations focused on advocacy, health administration, public health, government affairs related area, ideally working or volunteering in a health-related field.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including volunteers, staff, Board members, and external partners and donors.

Ability to read, write and speak in English; Spanish (or other languages) helpful.

Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Demonstrable experience with coordinating participating or leading volunteer or similar constituent activities.

Proven organizational, problem solving, and planning skills with the ability to set priorities.

Self-directed with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a remote working environment.

Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines and prioritize accordingly.

Microsoft Office 365 program fluency required.

Salesforce CRM system fluency preferred.

Strong presentation design and public speaking skills are preferred.
