Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Educational Program Assistant for the Department of Medicine within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS). The Educational Program Assistant performs and coordinates a wide variety of administrative activities within the Education and Training Unit of GTBI. Coordinates Education and Training unit operations as it relates to continuing education activities and logistical tasks associated with planning, implementing, and evaluation trainings. Serves as liaison with other NJMS/Rutgers departments as well as external entities including collaborators, stakeholders, and end users.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Prepares executive summary based on evaluation results and document training participants in required CE format as part of closeout activities.
  • Manages all faculty communications, including invitation, confirmation, disclosure, receipt of content, travel arrangements and expenses, and content review.
  • Reviews educational materials, presentation slides, excel spreadsheets, and other documents for formatting, grammar, spelling, etc. Assist with preparing PowerPoint slides, which may involve insert images, creating tables, adding text, etc.
  • Maintains electronic activity files so they are complete and in the required format both pre and post activity. Suggests improvements for organization of files.
  • Assists with requests for TB education and training resources and activities.
  • Identify issues relevant to activities, share feedback for addressing the issue with health educators and Program Director, and
    document resolution as needed.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus two (2) years of administrative experience in a government agency, university setting or large office setting.
  • Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be proficient in computer applications as required by the department, including MS Office (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be good at balancing multiple projects, managing time appropriately, and thrive in a team environment.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
