Overview	Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), established in 1971, offers a full continuum of evidence based behavioral health and addiction services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHC’s 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education. UBHC, one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, screening, crisis stabilization, family/caregiver support, community outreach and case management, supportive housing, supported employment, prevention and consultation, employee assistance programs, and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school. Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police, veterans, active military, teachers, mothers of special needs children and child protective service workers. In FY2016, UBHC treated 16,199 consumers, had 24,502 admissions, and touched the lives of 19,441 individual callers through peer support. In addition, UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering 16,000 trainings each year.
Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III – Per Diem in the Child & Adolescent Services – School Based Program for Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care. The Mental Health Clinician III position is to provide comprehensive assessment, psychological/neuropsychological assessment for youth and therapeutic intervention for the psychological and social needs of child and adolescent clients (ages 3-21 years), including development of treatment plans, conducting individual, group, and family therapy, and providing case management functions as necessary. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Provides psychotherapeutic interventions/services in accordance with accordance with accepted professional ethical standards of University Behavioral Health Care. Consistently ensures that patient’s rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy and civil rights are maintained as observed by supervisor and minimal complaints and some positive feedback from peers, patients and their families. Consistently performs case management functions to ensure overall coordination of treatment services via systems linkages, service procurement, referrals, patient advocacy and community liaison as indicated by supervisory observation and/or periodic record reviews. Effectively collaborates as clinically indicated with other staff members, referral sources, community resources, families and support systems. Maintains and supervises the maintenance of clinical records in compliance with UBHC and Joint Commission (JC) standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	Master’s Degree in mental health discipline. Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Certifications/Licenses	Licensure to practice as required by New Jersey state laws governing the discipline. Valid driver’s license.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications	Experience in the mental health field delivering psychotherapeutic services, psychological/neuropsychological assessment and assessments to children and families. Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish).

Provisionally licensed Mental Health Clinician III’s practice under the supervision of independently licensed Mental Health Clinician II’s or Psychologists. As a potential professional enhancement, the supervised work experience may contribute to the hour requirement for a LPC, LCSW, or other independent licensure if eligible.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
