Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | The Department of Sport and Entertainment Management (SPTE) in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow as part of the inaugural cohort of the University’s new Bridge to Faculty program. This is a full-time 12-month position. The Department of Sport and Entertainment Management is committed to building and supporting a diverse, inclusive, and equitable community of scholars and students, in keeping with the University’s goals regarding faculty diversity and excellence. We invite applications from outstanding scholars whose work contributes to, advances, or expands the boundaries of college sport research and will have completed a PhD in sport management or a related field between August 15, 2019 and August 15, 2023. Primary duties for this position consist of, but are not limited to the following: a) establish a robust program of focused college sport research, b) teach one class per year related to college sport, c) participate in the intellectual life of the institute and department, d) meet regularly with faculty mentors, e) participate in professional development opportunities, and f) collaborate across the college and institution when deemed appropriate. The scholar will have access to institutional and departmental resources specifically designed to support their readiness for a tenure-track position. |
