Summary

The Center for Equitable Family and Community Well-Being organizes projects between the University of Michigan and local communities that intentionally strengthen family and community well-being. The successful candidate will collaborate on projects taken on by the center as well as support strategies to achieve the center’s goals and objectives, including oversight of the small grants program. We are seeking someone that has a passion for achieving racial and economic equity with interests in research, education, and service. 

Responsibilities*

Reporting to the Center Director, specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Attend and take minutes for Center meetings
  • Support small grants for community organizations for the Center for Equitable Family & Community Well-Being
  • Communicate with established community partners and leverage relationships and professional network to develop new relationships with community organizations
  • Manage databases of participant information from previous and ongoing studies
  • Devise protocol for mass mailing projects to study participants
  • Organize online training sessions on relevant topics as they arise
  • Assist in maintenance of website development and design
  • Develop and maintain social media presence for the Center 
  • Oversee listening sessions with community partners
  • Develop case studies to highlight the work of community partners 
  • Manage payout process to individuals and organizations
  • Develop and complete research for white paper topics (e.g., racial trauma)
  • Manage the success and progress of the Reducing Extreme Economic Inequality Grand Challenge along with their working groups (Inclusive Asset-Building and Equality in Work and Income) through managing email listservs, social media, etc.

Required Qualifications*

  • Masters of Social Work degree required.
  • Project management and supervisory experience is required.



 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Social Work licensure or limited licensure preferred.
  • Flexibility and ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Prior experience working with community-researcher teams, and with inter-disciplinary work groups.
  • Experience with multiple social media platforms preferred.
