Grants Financial Coordinator, RAPID Program

Job Description

GRANTS FINANCIAL COORDINATOR (RAPID PROGRAM), Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), to perform comprehensive pre- and post-award financial research administration of CSAIL’s sponsored activities. Will coordinate the preparation, review, and submission of government, industrial, foundation, and other organizational proposals and ensure compliance with agency program announcement requirements and MIT’s policies and procedures; and advise principal investigators and project leaders on all aspects of research administration.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; three years’ transferable experience in accounting/economics/finance; record of assuming greater responsibility over time; knowledge of budgeting theory and practices, including reporting requirements/procedures related to cost accounting and auditing; knowledge of budget preparation and administration, financial record-keeping, and reporting; proficiency analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating contractual terminology; financial management/forecasting skills; ability to interpret financial data; discretion and judgment with confidential information; excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the internet; knowledge of enterprise financial systems/tools and multidimensional databases; and ability and willingness to learn new procedures, systems, business methods, and computational skills. Must be able to multitask, prioritize, work with flexibility, and simultaneously manage numerous projects with varying degrees of complexity while meeting concurrent deadlines; operate effectively in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment; interact effectively with a variety of constituents; coordinate projects independently; and collaborate as part of a team in creating, improving, and streamlining complex work processes.  PREFERRED: financial administration experience in a university, hospital, or nonprofit; experience working with federal/industry sponsors or private foundations; knowledge of general accounting principles; and experience with SAP, Cognos, and Tableau.  Job #22327-7
