The Player Development, Program Director is a non-coaching position responsible for fostering an environment that promotes the well-being and personal development of Notre Dame Football student-athletes. This position is focused on challenging our student-athletes to establish and maintain effective interactions with their teammates, coaches, support staff, faculty, student body, local community, alumni, and benefactors in order to maximize their experience at the University of Notre Dame. This position is responsible for devising a holistic personal development approach for Notre Dame Football student-athletes via day-to-day mentorship, consultation with various university entities, and implementation of a football student-athlete specific personal development curriculum focused on leadership, character, career development, faith, community service, and empowerment through various initiatives throughout the year. In consultation with student affairs, community standards, athletics compliance, the sport administrator, and the head football coach; this position is responsible for ensuring football student-athletes’ day-to-day adherence to NCAA, university, and football program specific rules, policies, procedures, and regulations. This position will monitor all football student-athlete disciplinary, behavioral, and personal concerns and strategize appropriate measures to address these concerns via monthly performance team meetings and daily communication with the aforementioned entities. Other responsibilities include serving as the primary academic liaison between football staff members and Academic Services for Student-Athletes; guidance with all football student-athlete financial processes and procedures; football student-athlete informational and participation record keeping; parent communication. Other operational responsibilities include organization and execution of the end of year football banquet; organization of senior day recognitions; oversight of player-guest ticket process; meeting with recruits and participation in all recruiting activities; meeting with athletics benefactors and participation in athletics advancement initiatives.
Working title will be Director of Player Development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (4 years)
- Experience with the sport of football, preferably at the collegiate or professional level
- General knowledge of a university structure and compliance rules (in concept) and a commitment to adhere to policies as set forth by the university and the NCAA
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficient computer skills in multiple programs (Microsoft suite, Adobe, or similar).
