Job Description

The Writing Studies faculty at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professional Professor of English to begin fall 2023. Professional track faculty are eligible to progress to the non-tenure track rank of Associate and Senior Professional Professor.

Teaching assignments will consist primarily of first-year composition with the opportunity to teach upper-division writing courses depending upon student need and candidate's expertise.

Teaching schedule may involve face to face, blended, and online course delivery.

Expectations include:
Teaching five courses in each regular semester as 80% of workload.

Providing service to the department, college, or university equivalent to 20% of workload.

Attending department, college, and university faculty meetings, as well as graduation ceremonies in the fall or spring.

Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, Technical Communication, or a related field OR a Ph.D. in English with one of those emphasis areas, from a regionally accredited institution. Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.

Experience teaching college-level writing.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching professional and technical writing courses

Online teaching experience

A culturally responsive approach to scholarship and teaching
