Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of five health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. Position Summary
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Center for Nanotechnology in Drug Delivery (CNDD). Under the mentorship of Dr. Alexander Kabanov, the Postdoctoral Research Associate will collaborate in writing manuscripts on a variety of topics derived from work conducted by CNDD faculty members, for instance on brain and other tumors imaging and therapy, development and use of novel imaging modalities and innovations in nanotechnology for theranostic applications in oncology and neurology. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to the CNDD’s research program by conducting research on polymeric nanomedicines for diagnosis and therapy. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also assist in writing grant applications.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Ph.D. degree or equivalent in medical science or a related field.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
 - Prior research experience in radiologic diagnostics of malignancies of the central nervous system in human subjects, MRI, and CT and research experience in imaging using small animal models.
- Demonstrated expertise in writing research papers. This experience and expertise obtained during study for the PhD will suffice.
- Interest in, and ability to collaborate with other researchers.
