Specialist, Talent Relations

Job Description

We are actively looking for a Specilaist to be a part of our Talent Relations team in the Talent Engagment function of the College.  This position will actively work with sensitive employee information.  The position will frequently liason between Talent Engagement, Office of General Counsel, Risk Management, HCC Police Department and other departments as needed.

The project related actions of this position may require the person in this role to work primarily from the appropriate HCC designated office location.

Job Summary

Provide daily support and coordination department activities; including reporting, implementation, and outreach activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Create and maintain a database of all contacts, and related data which is utilized in periodic reports.

Coordinate department activities, compliance with policy procedures, and presentation materials for events.

Monitor and document department activities, processes, and report results.

Prepare, review and organize legal correspondence.

Develop, implement and maintain operational procedures in accordance with governing policies, regulations and procedures.

Interact with clients to gather background information which includes informing of case/matter status in a periodic basis.

Engage with external stakeholders and internal clients regarding legal matters.

Serve as liaison with internal and external entities to develop and maintain working relationships to increase use of department services.

Develop department related documents and forms, verify accuracy, completeness and compliance with guidelines; oversee its maintenance and updates in support of objectives and measurement criteria.

Organize and maintain department files, forms and resources.

Develop and monitor the assigned budget, which include all direct and indirect costs, in consultation with appropriate budget authority.

Schedule meetings, conference calls, interviews for investigations, etc.

File or obtain legal documents with appropriate governmental entities or external partners.

Provide data entry and verification for state and internal reports as requested.

Manage confidential information with discretion and execute the highest level of customer service.

Participate in management team initiatives.

Develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external partners.

Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Associate degree with Paralegal/Legal Assistant Certification preferred
  • 8 years directly related experience may be considered in lieu of required degree
  • 5 years experience as a paralegal or legal assistant with paralegal duties required              

Licensing & Certification

  • Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions

General Office.  Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner.  Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements.  May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
