Responsibilities
Our Bioinformatics group is seeking a data analyst/ biostatistician/ bioinformatician to support our research in developing automated systems to check scientific publications for various types of errors, ethical issues and irregularities. The project will entail automated processing of text input to extract values, check accuracy of calculation, consult external websites for the validity of IDs and URLs, and return reports to the user. Machine learning skills will be helpful. Assessment of error-checking performance will be necessary (e.g., sensitivity and specificity). This position involves working both independently and as part of the bioinformatics team. The successful applicant will be able to work with conceptual ideas and implement technical/algorithmic solutions.

Qualifications
Post-doctorate degree in Bioinformatics, Math, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, MIS, or relevant field and 2 years relevant experience or a combination of relevant experience and education. Proficiency in Python programming. Ability/experience in algorithmic processing of unstructured text (e.g., parsing, pattern matching). Strong project management, organizational, attention to detail, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills required.
