Job Description: The Prince Lab at the University of Florida’s Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants (UF/CAIP) (https://plants.ifas.ufl.edu/) is recruiting for an OPS (i.e., hourly) data management position. The successful candidate will work with several long-term datasets collected by state and federal agencies, as well as citizen science organizations, to answer questions about the impact of aquatic invasive plants and their management. The data manager will work closely with Dr. Candice Prince (UF Agronomy and CAIP), Dr. Luke Flory (UF Agronomy), and postdoctoral scientist Dr. Vinícius Londe (UF Agronomy and CAIP).

This position pays $20 per hour for 20-40 hours per week. A background in data management, statistics, or library science is preferred. Primary duties  include joining large datasets and cleaning data errors, assigning unique ID’s for individual lakes in each dataset, and assisting with data analysis. The data manager will also help to digitize older paper datasets related to aquatic plant management. The position is available for up to two years. Most of the work can be accomplished remotely but some on-site meetings and work will be required.

Expected Salary:

$20.00 per hour 

Minimum Requirements:

 A background in data management, statistics, or library science.
