Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Unit Computing Specialist/ Manager for Dining Services. Reporting to the Assistant Director, this position provides expert technical assistance/troubleshooting to IT hardware and software related matters within Rutgers University Dining Services.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Answers end-user questions or researches and responds to questions within an appropriate time.
  • Performs analytical, technical, and administrative work to plan, design, and install networked and stand-alone computer systems.
  • Responsible for telephone and on-site support.
  • Develops documentation, user procedures, training guides, and security procedures.
  • Acts as liaison between vendors, within or outside of Rutgers University, pertaining to IT related matters on Dining Services projects.
  • Conducts hands-on training sessions and instructional classes in hardware and software applications.
  • Provides department wide A/V support for Catering Services events and equipment maintenance. Remains up to date in new developments and technologies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two years of related experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver’s license would be required for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of university computing environments, networks, LANs, desktop and network software, and operating systems currently in use required.
  • Requires strong interpersonal communication skills, basic consultative, and organizational skills.
  • Requires experience with Microsoft Office, Windows, Remote Desktop, MS Security Essentials and Adobe.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with E-Blaster, Buzzsaw, Eventmaster, Nutritionist, WRQ Reflection, Blackboard, Atrium, Sequioa and AS400, Aurora FoodPro, VOIP and Zimbra, preferred.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
