Responsibilities*

Postdoctoral research fellow to study sintering and grain growth of alumina ceramics using 3D in-situ synchrotron X-ray characterization techniques. Expertise is not required in all of these fields. However, expertise in at least one of these fields (i.e., sintering, grain growth, heat treatments, ceramics, X-ray techniques, or characterization techniques in general) is strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications*

- Completion before start date of a PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.

- Expertise on sintering, grain growth, ceramics, X-ray-based characterization, OR electron-based characterization preferred. 

Additional Information

- Position start date is flexible (as early as February 2023), depending on candidate's PhD timeline and availability.

- Position is 12 months with likelihood of extending depending on candidate's availability.
