Summary

The Office of Admissions and Records at the University of Michigan School of Nursing (UMSN) is seeking a School Registrar to be responsible and accountable for curriculum management and student record duties including the maintenance of the academic course schedule, UMSN courses, the Teaching Plan and Faculty Activity Schedule, and student registration and enrollment records. The individual in this role will manage all procedures and workflows related to the course schedule, records, and registration/enrollment and will produce new procedures as necessary. The School Registrar serves as the liaison between the School of Nursing and the central University Office of the Registrar.

Responsibilities*

Curriculum Management

  • Build and maintain the UMSN course schedule each term, accounting for curricular changes, faculty assignments, and space needs.
  • Produce and maintain the Teaching Plan and Faculty Activity Schedule by collaborating with staff and faculty leadership and other key stakeholders. Participate in regular Faculty Activity Schedule meetings and communicate key information at prescribed intervals throughout the academic year based on established workflows.
  • Coordinate the process of determining instructional course support for faculty in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer and the UMSN Office of Human Resources.
  • Manage all requests to use classroom space in the two School of Nursing academic buildings for both curricular and non-curricular events.
  • Serve as liaison to the UMSN Curriculum Committee by attending meetings and providing information that supports key processes related to course creation or modifications. Complete Course Approval Request Forms to adjust courses in the MPathways Student Administration system, and adjust the course schedule and Teaching Plan as necessary.
  • On a term-by-term basis, provide faculty grading access and order teaching evaluations for all School of Nursing courses.

Student Records

  • Compile student registration override reports each term.
  • Manage the course enrollment projections process.
  • Monitor enrollment numbers in all UMSN courses in accordance with approved school guidelines.
  • Manage the program and degree change process for students.
  • Provide guidance to UMSN Undergraduate/Graduate Advisors as they work with students on course selection/adjustments and programs of study.

Data Management and Reporting Responsibilities

  • Provide reports and statistics on the course schedule, current and historical enrollment, registration, and classroom use. Maintain a robust history of UMSN courses to serve as a reference tool.
  • Serve as back-up for data requests related to student records, including the preparation of reports.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries sent to the UMSN Records Team shared email account.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Supervision is received from the Business Intelligence Analyst Intermediate.

Required Qualifications*

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) year’s work experience in student services or registrar-related functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to receive and convey information clearly and concisely for various mediums.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong data analytics skills; working experience with M-Pathways/Oracle, BusinessObjects or other data systems used in higher education is preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of a university organization as well as academic policies and procedures is necessary.

Additional Information

Shift/Hours/Days: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; may include some occasional weekend or evening hours. Currently, this position has the option to be hybrid; and will be reviewed annually per the university and School of Nursing policy.

Salary Range: Salary is commensurate based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. We encourage all interested parties to apply.
