Summary

We are seeking a full-time Research Laboratory Technician Associate/Intermediate to study morphogenesis of the fetal small intestine using human and mouse tissues and organoids. The lab tech will maintain the lab mouse colony, including performing routine daily check, breeding and genotyping; assist in general lab maintenance, organization and record keeping; design and carry out experiments; prepare data for presentation; participate in lab meetings and journal clubs.

Responsibilities*

The candidate will assume responsibility for performing routine lab work and data analysis including breeding and maintenance of the mouse colony, mouse tissue dissections, tissue dissociation and FLOW cytometry, tissue fixation, processing, and sectioning, stem cell and intestinal organoid culture, molecular cloning, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, and image analysis. Additional responsibilities include acquiring and analyzing data under the guidance of graduate students or postdoctoral fellows and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

Research Lab Tech Associate: 

  • Associates Degree and 0-1 year of experience is required.

Research Lab Tech Intermediate:

  • Associates Degree and 1-3 years of experience is required. 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or a related science degree and matching lab research experience.
  • The applicant should be highly motivated, detail-oriented and methodical, and able to work as part of a team.
  • The ideal candidate is good at multi-tasking and has strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in part or all of the following is preferred: mouse husbandry and handling, PCR, gel electrophoresis, hESC culture, organoid culture, molecular cloning, tissue sectioning, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, imaging processing, tissue dissociation and FLOW cytometry, RNA extraction, qPCR .

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Background Screening
