Summary of Position

The Registrar’s Office at Keene State College invites applications for a Student Information Specialist to support the Registrar function through enhancement and maintenance of student information system (SIS) modules related to academic records and scheduling, including developing processes/programs for data extraction and communications management, and collaborating with other SIS offices/processes to develop quality improvements through technological strategies.

Salary Information

Starting salary range $47,920-$60,810, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off. This position is part of the Keene State College Staff Association (KSCSA).

Duty/Responsibility

Technical Functions: Provide technical support to the Registrar’s Office with emphasis on managing Colleague functions specific to registration including (but not limited to) building the academic calendar in Colleague, registration appointments programming, registration rules (required advising and registration holds), and troubleshooting registration issues for faculty, staff, and students.  Manage Colleague side of grading including managing grading availability and data integrity. Upkeep for Registrar webpage and FAQ maintenance. Support Registrar office staff with technology issues and processes, policy and procedure clarification, provide backup when needed.  Develop sustainable long-term technical solutions for Registrar Office needs and/or problems.

Duty/Responsibility

Enrollment Management: This position has the primary responsibility to serve as the first point-of-contact representing the registrar function related to issues of enrollment management including documentation, training, and support for Colleague and Self-Service users; and coordinated delivery of services or problem-resolution of technical issues with other KSC Enrollment Management support offices.  Work with stakeholders and Registrar in implementing and updating academic four-year plans in Colleague to support the Self-Service/Student Planning module.  Coordinate and support other offices (ACA, Admissions, GEO, Office of Graduate Studies and Grants, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Academic Departments, etc.) related to registration, grading, enrollment reporting to the National Students Loan Data System (NSLDS), and general process and procedure related to academic policy while also playing an active role in procedures directly involving the Registrar’s Office.

Duty/Responsibility

Report Writing: High-level skills in reporting software, data structures, data extraction, and formatting to support Registrar Office day-to-day operations. Maintain reporting elements in the coordination of SIS vendor updates. Work as a liaison between IT and Registrar’s Office with regards to SIS updates and Registrar’s Office reporting.

Duty/Responsibility

Data Oversight: Data management, quality control, and integrity, and best practice; coordinate processing and system set up with critical events supported by the application system.

Duty/Responsibility

Software Oversight/maintenance: Software testing and implementation of vendor updates and enhancements for student information system and web applications, user interface, and reporting tool and data warehouse. Review of upcoming patches, issues, and enhancements reported in vendor-supported website utilities. Application security development and assignment to users. Skill development – maintaining currency and forecasting: use all available resources to maintain and improve skills and become familiar with emerging technologies as applicable to assigned areas. Project management: supervise and assist with designated projects, such as serving as departmental technical lead, developing project plans, and participating in the execution of major projects as assigned.

Duty/Responsibility

Committee Participation & Misc: Represent the Registrar’s Office on appropriate committees, particularly where advanced knowledge in technology is beneficial, provide service for the college community. Assist office in daily operations during peak times. Perform related duties as assigned.
