As the CRM Salesforce Administrator, you will play a key role in enhancing the constituent experience from donors to staff and beyond. Leveraging the power and flexibility of the Salesforce platform and your understanding of each customer’s business strategy, you will implement technical solutions that will streamline business processes and improve the user experience. This role will work with the development office to understand their business goals and support their ability to connect with constituents in meaningful ways. Successful candidates are initiators: resourceful, detail-oriented critical thinkers. The business analyst facet of the role requires outstanding communication and listening skills, genuine interest in fostering teamwork, ability to provide honest feedback in a respectful manner, and an ownership outlook. For the technical part of this role, familiarity with Salesforce administration – evidenced by Salesforce certification and/or training – is key.

Key Goals and Activities:
Requirements, Business Analysis, Design, and Project Management
- Collaborate with functional units to understand and analyze business objectives and directions, facilitate business requirements definition, and recommend business processes / technical solutions that provide the best return on investment to the organization.
- Develop process maps and user stories to facilitate a shared understanding of the business process, requirements and design.
- Lead agile and scrum work processes.
- Write and maintain documentation including process maps and narratives that provide context for support and utilization.
Application Configuration, Validation and Troubleshooting
- Implement sustainable solutions that maximize the use of standard functionality and minimize technical debt.
- Perform configuration activities and support for applications, such as configuring custom objects/fields, building workflow and approval processes, and assist with the analysis of bug fixes/ issues.
- Batch/bulk exports, imports and updates of data.
Quality Assurance
- Plan and execute solution test strategies and user acceptance testing criteria; creation, execution and maintenance of both manual and automated test scripts.
- Solicit and integrate staff feedback to continuously improve the user experience and troubleshoot needs.
Acquire/Maintain Business Practice Expertise
- Identify and facilitate the sharing of best practices related to configuration and end-user processes.
Explore Salesforce community and peer resources to identify enhancements or third-party apps that would deliver functionality to meet user needs.

Minimum Qualifications
- Salesforce Administrator Certification – completed or in process – or equivalent work experience
- 3 + years of professional experience
Business Analyst skills:
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills to build relationships with people at various levels and areas of the organization (e.g. programmers, fundraisers, senior leadership)
- Ability to collaborate and influence project stakeholders and developers, and work in or lead cross-functional teams
- Evidence of initiative, ability to work with minimal direction, and a strong sense of ownership
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm
- Demonstrated critical, logical, and innovative thinking
- Drive and desire to learn and grow both technical and functional skill sets and master new subject matter areas
Technical Skills:
- Understanding of relational databases and data integrity tools.
- Experience with Data Loader or equivalent.
- Experience in gathering business requirements in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, requirements analysis, business analysis, systems development life cycle and project management methods.
- Ability to collaborate and influence project stakeholders and developers, and work in or lead cross-functional teams
- Experience working test design, test execution, and validating solutions.
- Continuous Improvement experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Having one or more of these qualifications may enhance the potential for being considered a top applicant for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree (especially in information technology, computer science, business administration, or equivalent)
- Other Salesforce certifications (Sales Cloud Consultant, App Developer, Developer)
- Business Analyst Certification
- Familiarity with marketing automation solutions such as Pardot and Marketing Cloud
- Experience with Higher-Ed institutions and various Salesforce managed packages (Education Data Architecture)
