The OneSource Faculty and Staff Service Center (OneSource FSSC) supports the Rutgers community by simplifying processes, improving the customer experience, and redefining the delivery of HR and Payroll services. The OneSource FSSC will provide personalized care to address all the human resources and payroll inquiries for faculty and staff via one phone number and online support.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Leave Administration Functional Specialist within the OneSource Faculty and Staff Service Center. This position is responsible for consistently delivering best in class OneSource Leave Administration related transaction services to support Rutgers. This position’s prime responsibility is to deploy specialized, in-depth knowledge to resolve faculty, staff and retiree inquiries related to Leave Administration; lead and oversee all Leave Administration related transactions coming into the OneSource and serve in a group lead capacity and escalation point for a team of Leave Administration Functional Specialists.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Ensures all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective service to customers.
  • Identifies and incorporates leading practices and innovative approaches and tools for service delivery into OneSource operations.
  • Supports the development of OneSource policies and procedures, ensuring that they promote leading practices and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Supports adoption of OneSource knowledge management and self-service capabilities.
  • Supports the Manager to optimize Leave Administration service delivery.
  • Provides prompt assistance to customers for complex Leave Administration transactions while appropriately tracking and documenting inquires within the OneSource case management system.
  • Serves as a transactional subject matter resource for the Leave Administration team; escalation point and approver for Leave Administration Functional Specialists.
  • Serves as an escalation point for Initiating and resolving staff leaves, managing employee return from leave through coordination with Departments and HR, and managing disabilities and any family related leaves.
  • Monitors inquiry volume, cycle times and other operational metrics for Leave Administration to inform call center resourcing plans and provides reports to OneSource leaders.
  • Informs updates of OneSource’s knowledge management solution to ensure latest information is included from a Leave Administration perspective.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities across end-to-end OneSource Leave Administration processes, and supports process and technology driven business process reengineering initiatives.
  • Ensures Leave Administration transactional services are being delivered in a consistent and efficient manner.
  • Collaborates and liaises with Leave Administration Specialists, HCM Specialists and Customer Service Representatives to increase issue resolution efficiencies within the OneSource; serves as the approver for sensitive transactions.
  • Supports recruiting, training, and employee development activities to support the OneSource call center.
  • Creates, fosters and maintains a collaborative, innovative and customer-focused team culture.
  • Supports employee engagement and development initiatives for OneSource employees to enhance job satisfaction and morale.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years relevant leave experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Commit to best-in class customer service experience for diverse faculty and staff population.
  • Ability to understand HR terminology/concepts, policies and procedures.
  • Utilize strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Possess a positive, team-oriented approach to service delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years NJFLA and FMLA experience.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
