The Temple Infant and Child Lab is looking for an Associate Director to work with the Executive Director and Principal Investigators to oversee a recently acquired five-year grant focused on reimagining education for children from kindergarten through fourth grade in classrooms across the US. This longitudinal research project will employ a guided play learning pedagogy using the values of community and existing school curricula and will be assessed using a randomized controlled trial to assess the impacts of playful learning in classrooms. 

The Associate Director will serve in a full-time capacity ensuring the fidelity of the project across partnering states (Virginia, Illinois, Texas, California) in a three-pronged capacity; 1) interface with state level school districts to learn about their specific curricula and community values, 2) coordinate the master coaches from schools and central leadership, and 3) curate and adjudicate website materials for the longevity of the project. They will provide support to state-specific personnel and senior study personnel, travel to each state partner site to provide a series of trainings for teachers and site-specific coaches and oversee the master coaches’ activities as they work with the schools to learn district curricula and community values. 

This person will oversee the day-to-day activities of the project operations and be available to state teams as needed. They will visit each site assisting in the coaching, implementation, and helping oversee the data collection process. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:
* Working knowledge of instruction on playful learning, community-based research, and classroom research 
* Designing training materials and research protocols 
* Leadership in training large groups and individuals
* Working knowledge of designing and implementing web-based training materials 
* Ability to lead multi-site, national level, research projects  
* Excellent interpersonal, leadership, writing, and organizational skills
* Strong communicator
* Ability to interact with a diverse population of participants
* Ability to travel domestically

Preferred:
* Postdoctoral experience
* Proficiency in SPSS, SAS

This is a grant funded position.

This position is temporarily assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
