Job Summary

The Juvenile Justice Research and Reform (JJR&R) Lab in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Drexel University is hiring an individual to fulfill a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Scientist role. This is anticipated to be a 2-year position, with the possibility to extend contingent upon fit and funding. The successful candidate will have a primary role in the cross-county evaluation of juvenile diversion reforms.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as a key contributor to a foundation grant meant to evaluate the impact of cross-county initiatives to expand eligibility and support for prosecutor-operated juvenile justice diversion from formal court processing.
  • Work closely with community partners (e.g., District Attorney’s offices, community-based youth-serving organizations).
  • Facilitate data transfer, manage project databases to structure, clean, and prepare data for analyses, conduct basic analyses, and collaborate with lab statistician for high-level analyses.
  • Collaborate with project partners to disseminate findings and generate policy and practice recommendations.
  • Author/co-author publications and contribute to grant applications and project deliverables.
  • Supervise research assistants who work on this project.
  • Serve as a core member of the JJR&R Lab team and collaborate with several other lab project teams, which include faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate research assistants.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master’s degree or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in related field.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills for data management and statistical analyses, organizational skills needed to successfully manage data-related components of this project, and excellent interpersonal skills needed to successfully collaborate with funders, justice stakeholders, and lab colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

The JJR&R Lab seeks a candidate with a doctoral or master’s degree in statistics, criminology, public health, psychology, public policy, or a related discipline.
