Job Description

The Keough School of Global Affairs seeks an experienced recruitment and admissions professional to lead recruitment and admissions efforts for its MGA program. Launched in 2017, the Keough School’s MGA program has grown to an annual enrollment of approximately 90 students, more than half of whom come from outside the United States. The Associate Director for Recruitment and Admissions will lead the development and implementation of recruitment strategies and initiatives that attract top global talent to the Keough School and grow and enhance our MGA student body. The Associate Director will implement a range of initiatives, from working with partners around the world to build new pipelines to the School to using new technologies to interact with prospective students. The Associate Director will also coordinate the application process and work with the admissions committee in the selection of candidates for the program. The position reports to the MGA Program Director and works closely with both the MGA and Communications teams.

Student Recruitment responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a recruitment plan for the MGA program aligning with the School strategic plan and program goals including enrollment and diversity targets; build class diversity along many dimensions; identify specific domestic and international markets for increased recruiting efforts which meet diversity goals within financial limits; keep abreast of recruiting best practices among peer institutions in global affairs, identify successful recruitment strategies, and make recommendations to the MGA team;
  • Build partnerships with key institutions, including academic institutions, international nonprofit organizations, businesses, philanthropic organizations, professional associations, and governmental and intergovernmental entities to strengthen both domestic and global recruitment channels;
  • Serve as the point of contact for prospective students; administer the MGA admissions email account and communicate with prospective students in a timely manner, answering technical questions; manage the interface between Emma and Slate software and create and program recruiting emails in Slate; conduct one-on-one interactions with prospective students, both in person and through a variety of technologies; plan, coordinate, and implement on-campus and virtual recruitment sessions that inspire prospective students to choose the Keough School as their first choice for global affairs; travel regionally, out-of-state and, occasionally, internationally to recruitment events (e.g., career fairs, graduate & professional school fairs, professional associations fairs);
  • Coordinate with a broad range of campus and off-campus actors on recruitment efforts; work closely with the Dean’s Office Communications and Marketing team on recruitment initiatives; oversee, coordinate, and train recruitment delegates such as MGA Student Ambassadors, MGA alumni, faculty, Keough School Institutes and Centers, ND Global Gateways, and other partners; develop strong relationships with campus partners and the Keough School DC office and represent the MGA program at on-campus and off-campus recruitment programs; coordinate with the Graduate School to make sure our email campaign and initiatives are complimentary to theirs; follow up with those who provide recommendations to those admitted in our program.

Admissions responsibilities include:

  • Work within Slate CRM to build queries, reports and other tools to manage the recruitment portfolio and refine recruitment policies and practices; along with the Program Director of the MGA program, plan and lead prospective student interviews for academic aptitude, skills, and communication proficiency; manage fee-waiver requests;
  • Staff the MGA Admissions Committee, participate in the discussion of candidates, and provide input on eligibility for admission consideration based on submitted applications and pre-application engagement; arrange access to Slate CRM for all the MGA Admission Committee members, update and supply Committee members with Slate instructions, and handle technical questions regarding admissions tools from Committee members
  • Coordinate with the Program Director of the MGA program to create and disseminate offer letters to admitted students; report admissions results to MGA leadership team; work with the student services program manager to field questions about housing, financial aid, curriculum, etc., and connecting them with relevant MGA and Notre Dame resources (e.g. the Graduate School, ISSA, Financial Aid Office).
  • Formulate, disseminate, and conduct ongoing review and evaluation of admissions policies for the MGA program and recommend changes to ensure the MGA program maintain a competitive position among peer institutions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • B.A. in a relevant field and 5-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires excellent communication skills (oral and written);
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build relationships with prospective students of all ages and backgrounds as well as faculty and staff partners;
  • Experience developing recruitment strategies;
  • Ability to think strategically about enrollment issues;
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks at once, communicating closely with colleagues to successfully execute plans and coordinate recruiting efforts across the MGA recruiting team;
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in a relevant field.
