Job Description

Responsibilities*

  • Support the classroom teacher in creating a high quality learning environment that supports the development and education of the children using the Reggio-inspired approach to learning. 
  • Provoke children’s ideas and scaffold their understanding though problem solving, representational work, and conflict resolution. 
  • Implement Positive Child guidance and intervention supports. 
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational needs. 
  • Effectively support the management of the classroom by maintaining consistency and developmentally appropriate expectations. 
  • Lead activities under the direction of the lead teacher. 
  • Utilize developmentally appropriate practice and best practice methods at all times. 
  • Meet program objectives concerning education standards, quality, safety, and cleanliness. 

Required Qualifications*

  • Have a high school degree or equivalent education. 
  • Have at least 1 year of experience working with children and/or a certificate in early childhood education or currently working towards the completion of one. 

Desired Qualifications*

  • CDA or Associates degree in Child Development or another related field. 
  • Knowledge of the Reggio Emilia philosophy. 
  • Exceptional communication skills (speaking and writing), and computer literacy skills. 
  • Experience with documentation skills.
