Overview

Responsible for general business and financial support of the Cell Therapies program and staffing, including multi-institutional Budget & Revenue Management.  Responsible for a wide range of tasks related to supporting the Cell Therapies program including specialty patient, donor and pharma billing, patient charge entry, invoice payment to outside vendors, patient volume reporting and analysis, clinical trials budget reconciliation, Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center contract support for Cell Therapies, Personnel form processing, employee and donor reimbursements and purchasing needs of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports and furnishes data on an as needed basis.
  • Prepares budget analyses and journal entries, as required, to support budget reconciliation and annual budget development.
  • Manages daily financial transactions including inter-institutional Accounts Payable invoice processing.
  • Serves as Cell Therapies Patient Accounting specialist for billing across Cell Therapies services.
  • Salary roster updates including management of splits across operational, research and gift accounts.
  • Salary roster reconciliation/support for the DFBCC contract for Cell Therapies.
  • Staff reimbursements and critical supply ordering while ensuring appropriate research or operating funds are utilized appropriately.
  • Specialty patient and donor billing and payments including charge entry.
  • Generate reports from various clinical systems to measure patient volumes.
  • Works with clinical leadership and program stakeholders to ensure new CAR-T therapies are financially supported.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual volume reports and graphs for leadership.
  • Budget management of multiple Cell Therapies budgets.
  • Manages bi-monthly NMDP Transplant Center invoicing across 3 institutions including Account Payable and Patient Accounting components.
  • Manages reimbursements for NMDP donor center activities and SAF grants.
  • Acts as business and financial liaison for NMDP contracted services.
  • Transactions – reimbursements, purchasing, payments, interinstitutional billing (offsets) & POs
  • Manages purchasing needs of the program and keeps track of inventory.
  • Participates in the business process redesign and improvement of key functions and tasks within the Cell Therapies Program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience, preferably in the health care industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:   

  • Requires excellent computer skills in MS Office applications, automated general ledger system, and Cell Therapies case management systems including OTTR. PeopleSoft experience strongly preferred.
  • Must demonstrate excellent judgment, discretion, interpersonal skills and communication skills to effectively work and communicate on sensitive political and confidential issues with clinical staff, and senior management and outside vendors.
  • Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Must pay particular attention to complex patient accounting transactions.
  • Must have strong communication and documentation skills.  
  • Must be committed to a customer service philosophy.
  • Must be committed to working closely with others in a team-oriented approach.

Role requires partial on-site presence (2-3 days/week)
