Job Description

Founded in 1967, Blue Ridge Community College has served the residents of the central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia for over 50 years. Its comprehensive program of instruction includes associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in occupational/technical and college/university transfer programs. The College also provides non-credit workforce training and special interest classes for individuals, business, and industry.

The position will include teaching (traditional classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, and online delivery) with a focus on a strong pedagogical approach and quality student learning assessment.
The position also includes participation in institutional development such as service and leadership on college committees, academic advising, and mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline.
The selected candidate will also participate in scholarly engagement, professional development activities, and community service to both the BRCC campus and the local service region.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.


KSA's/Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Education, or a related field, from a regionally accredited university — with a minimum of 18 credits in the teaching field.
 

A minimum of two years of K12 teaching experience, with strong current knowledge of best practices in the field.
 

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a proven track record of working collaboratively.
 

Commitment to applications of instructional technology and an enthusiasm for the community college mission and environment.
