Position Summary:
The Bursar will lead the development and implementation of processes and procedures that ensure the accuracy and integrity of all student account transactions. The position will provide leadership and direction to a team of direct reports responsible for the efficient operations and services provided within the department.
Essential Functions:
- Implement and manage strategic plans and operating procedures for the student accounts
for improvement.
- Provide direction of and responsible for the accuracy of the cashiering and record-keeping
miscellaneous charges and fee collection.
- Oversee general ledger setup and system maintenance to accurately record various
refund processing.
- Responsible to hire, schedule, supervise, train, evaluate performance, and support
action as needed.
- Provide ongoing training of Student Accounts process and procedures to the Accounts
consistency among departments.
- Manage the department budget and conduct operational planning for the Accounts
- Responsible for year-end reporting for Student Accounts including system configuration,
- Direct staff on course of action, approve payment plans and other options for payment
- Develop and provide oversight of collection procedures as necessary for defaulted
- Assist in the coordination of the annual audit as well as prepare audit work papers and
- Work closely with department managers and directors such as Financial Aid and Registrar
- Ensure fiscal integrity of college petty cash and vault funds and oversight of cash
- Oversee and perform complex reconciliations of subsidiary and general ledger accounts
- Conveys by words and actions the values expected by CWI.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field or three years
- Accounting experience and a strong background in accounts receivable principles,
higher education preferred.
- Knowledge of fund accounting, financial aid, and student loan terminology. Three years
