Community College of Philadelphia is seeking to fill a Director, Multimedia Services and CCPTV position. Reporting to the Dean of Online Learning and Media Services, the Director, Multimedia Services and CCPTV provides overall direction of daily operations for the College's cable television station (CCPTV) and Multimedia Services which includes event and media production services, as well as the management of the media and technology in the Auditorium. The Director works closely with the Office of Academic and Student Success, the Director of Events, and the Marketing and Communications department to ensure successful events. In addition, the Director provides leadership and supervision for the department including budget oversight, training and performance management of staff supervision,scheduling, and long-range planning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media or closely related field required. Any and all degree(s) must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.
  • Five (5) years' experience in multimedia management, television management or audiovisual production required.
  • Basic skill level in MS Office software required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (both verbal and written) to support effective interaction with students, staff, faculty and various levels of a diverse college community and external community is required.
  • Ability to work flexible and irregular hours required.
  • Ability to perform assigned responsibilities, according to established practices and procedures, with minimal supervision within the assigned time frame required.
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a college or university environment preferred.
  • Master's degree in Communications, Media, or closely related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of camera techniques, non-linear and linear video editing, audio variations, design principles, script writing, storyboarding, and lighting techniques preferred.
  • Familiarity with copyright laws and practices as they relate to media production and distribution preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety measures with the ability to adhere to best practices to ensure safety at all times preferred.
  • Ability to set, implement and assess strategic goals preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience required; experience supervising unionized employees is preferred.
  • Experience developing and managing a budget and other resources is preferred.
  • Technology-related project management experience is preferred.
