Associate Director of Facilities and Environment of Care
Department: Administration
Reports To: President/ Chief Executive Officer or Designee
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the day-to-day management of Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. (TTC) programs related to Facilities (Maintenance/Engineering, Environmental Services) and Environment of Care (EOC) Office Management. Coordinates with regulatory agencies concerning compliance with federal, state, local and other laws governing the operation of the organization’s facilities and The Joint Commission (JC) standards.
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
1. Manages program implementations and has direct relationships with all directors and supervisors.
2. Works with Administration and Departmental Directors/Supervisors to establish short and long range goals. Participates in organization strategic planning processes. Monitors ongoing performance.
3. Establishes quality improvement and statistical modeling mechanisms and processes in accordance with JC standards and all other regulatory regulations. Analyzes data and reports results to appropriate organizational committees.
4. Defines, implements, and periodically reviews the , objectives, policies, procedures, and standards for assigned departments/programs.
5. Plans and executes performance of EOC, EM, and LS standards at all sites. Ensures compliance with JC and other regulatory agency requirements as defined in the elements of performance in each area.
6. Coordinates remodeling/retrofit/renovation and new construction programs and activities to meet the space, patient care and capital investment goals of the organization.
7. Evaluates quality of services provided to internal and external customers.
8. Provides periodic administrative reports based on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, fiscal reporting and others as required. Associate Director of Facilities & Environment of Care Written: 04/14/02 Revised: 01/17/23 Page 2
9. Assists with plans, schedules and assists with coordinating security, housekeeping, maintenance, facilities support services and other specialties for smooth operation of programs.
10. As assigned responsible for departmental personnel matters, i.e., performance reviews, payroll entries approval, check distribution, counseling, etc.
1. Will attend Performance Improvement, Patient Care, Environment of Care, Corporate Compliance, Supervisors Meetings and all other committees as assigned.
12. Conducts staff meetings for the purpose of informing and developing line staff, Supervisors, and coordinator personnel
13. Negotiates contracts/bids for services provided by outside sources and recommends effective methods/plans to Administrative Officers.
14. Other duties as requested by Administrator.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years’ experience in a healthcare facilities management environment or an appropriate technical degree related to facilities, systems, etc. or equivalent experience. Knowledge of JCAHO, California Code of Regulations (Titles 8, 9, 17, 22, 24, etc. related to industrial/healthcare settings),

Previous experience with California DHS, AQMD, WRCB and others Trade/industry knowledge in construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, wastewater removal, HAZMAT. Background in OSHA compliance and knowledge of ADA requirements. Proven ability in the areas of life safety training/compliance and equipment testing/inspection preferred.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES None required. Affiliation with NFPA, CSHE, ICBO, other professional organizations desirable.
