About this position: Program Manager
Leads assigned program(s) through the successful management, operations, communications, execution, and evaluation of education programs internally within PPGNHAIK and externally with partners. Directly supervises Capacity Building Specialists, monitors, and maintains project objectives and provides Department-wide support through project leadership.
This position is full-time and fully remote.
Salary $56-84K DOE
What you’ll be doing:
Interfaces with Education department staff, as well as affiliate and community partners, to develop strategies related to training, support, and program implementation. Designs, supervises delivery of, and ensures quality regional and national training in partnership with the Capacity Building Specialists to ensure curriculum and programmatic fidelity and quality for program(s).
Major Responsibilities:
Program Leadership
Strategic leadership for program operation and implementation of one of the following:
- Peer Education Institute
- LGBTQ+ programming
- Systems-involved youth programming
- Equity and Inclusion
- Spark*ED online sex education professional development training
- Additional programs as opportunity and funding allow
Develops capacity-building approaches that support high-quality youth leadership and sex education programming for youth populations and the adults who serve them. Maintains a high level of knowledge and skill in serving these populations. Collaborates with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC stakeholders to provide, develop, and adapt education programming for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC youth.
Leads program expansion through new and existing partnerships, presenting at conferences, and securing funding and growth opportunities.
Ensures staff delivering programs are kept informed and current on program implementation expectations and tools by skillfully using multiple communication and training techniques while utilizing a variety of learning platforms, such as virtual, web-based, print, phone, and culturally responsive language.
Creation and oversight of program budget and expenses for internal program work. Supports external partners on budgets as needed.
Capacity Building
Creates and provides training and technical assistance to internal and external staff delivering education related to their program and other Capacity Building initiatives.
Participates in curriculum and course development for Education programs by drafting curriculum and providing reviews as necessary. Collaborates with Education Leadership to apply continuous quality improvement to curriculum and education materials to meet program needs.
Ensures program fidelity within assigned program(s) and implementation partners.
Provides direction for all program evaluation efforts internal, and external, including randomized control trials, community assessments, data collection and reporting. Collaborates with internal and external evaluators as appropriate.
Maintains knowledge on learning methodologies, best practices, and the latest developments in equity and inclusion, pedagogy, virtual learning, youth engagement, and sexual health by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing networks.
Supervision
Supervises, onboards, and trains Capacity Building Specialist(s).
Provides comprehensive workplan for supervisees and ensures they have the support and resources needed to execute assigned programmatic goals and tasks, including consistent feedback, observation, and evaluation.
Adapts supervision style and technique to meet the diverse needs of staff from a culturally responsive perspective.
Equity and Inclusion
Develops and maintains relationships with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ community members, stakeholders, and other?local and national?organizations to support, represent, and promote the department and agency goals.
Understands diverse client needs and offers useful and timely interventions in cases where progress is impeded due to a diversity-related issue.
Recognizes and addresses one’s filters, privileges, biases, and cultural preferences with awareness, knowledge, and skill emphasis.
Seeks and utilizes feedback from diverse sources to increase interpersonal capacity and professional development.
Commits to continuous learning / improvement in diversity, inclusion, and -equity work.
Department
Collaborates on the Department goals and development of support systems and tools for staff as part of the Education Leadership Team. Participate with other Education Leaders on department committees and projects.
Collaborates with the Development Team in securing funding by providing information about Education programs, such as quantitative data, impact statements, participant testimonials, and photos. Actively assists in grant applications and funder report writing.
Actively participates in the Capacity Building Team by leading and assisting on capacity building projects and professional development.
Serves as representative of PPGNHAIK to community organizations, schools, other Planned Parenthood affiliates, etc.
Affiliate wide expectations:

Demonstrates and maintains a high degree of professionalism.
Takes action to support the affiliate’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Supports and acts in accordance with the PPGNHAIK customer service standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Capacity Building Specialists
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Education field, preference in sexuality education or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience with project/program management, preference in sexuality education programs
Minimum of 2 years of supervision experience or comparable experience.
Experience providing capacity building and training services required.
Experience providing services to LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC youth or the adults who work with them. Knowledge of adolescent development and adult learning preferred.
Skills:
Sexual and reproductive health knowledge strongly preferred.
Experience writing lessons plans and curricula.
Comfortable supervising and engaging with staff teams virtually across time-zones.
Experience providing virtual/online training programs preferred.
Experience observing and providing coaching and feedback for educational and youth programming preferred.
Other requirements:
Ability to travel, both within and out-of-state. Travel is anticipated to be 20%.
