Job Summary
The Department of Neuroscience and the Center for Advanced Pain Studies at UT Dallas has an opening for a Research Data Specialist to join the Price Lab.
The Center for Advanced Pain Studies (CAPS) is composed of eight founding UT Dallas faculty, affiliate faculty at UT Southwestern (UTSW), twelve postdoctoral fellows/research associates, and graduate students across multiple academic disciplines studying different facets of chronic pain and migraine. The research mission of the Center for Advanced Pain Studies (CAPS) is to elucidate fundamental mechanisms underlying chronic pain and migraine, as well as to discover novel therapeutics for the treatment of chronic pain through academic, public, and private partnerships.
The Price Lab’s main objectives are understanding how neuronal plasticity alters the way the brain receives nociceptive information from the sensory system and how this relates to chronic pain in human patients.
The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary research team trying to identify novel targets that regulate the excitability of sensory neurons after injury and the mechanisms involved to cause pain to become chronic. He/she will analyze and interpret large sequencing data sets by applying statistical methods for RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and sing cell sequencing data sets. The successful candidate will interact closely with other post docs within the laboratory to test, validate, and refine hypothesis.
