Summary

The Financial Aid Administrator Senior will report to the Assistant Director and serve as a functional supervisor, the primary focus of this position is the coordination of customer service in the Office of Financial Aid. You will have an advanced understanding of financial aid and leadership skills to ensure quality customer service.

Responsibilities*

  • You will be a representative of the Office of Financial Aid to students, parents/supporters, outside agencies, faculty and staff either through direct contact, emails, phone, text messaging, and at presentations regarding financial aid in general and the application process.
  • You will work with multiple populations for retention and advising for the purpose of planning, developing and implementing tailored activities, programs, projects and communications.
  • You will hire, oversee, and train the student employees that work in the customer service area of the Office of Financial Aid.
  • You will demonstrate administrative capability as a financial aid administrator by ensuring practices, policies, and procedures comply with Federal and State regulations.
  • You will maintain a working knowledge of financial aid rules and regulations. Remain current on trends and practices in Higher Education.
  • You will review current literature and attend professional meetings to keep current on Federal, State, and institutional regulations and policy changes.
  • You will be a liaison between the financial aid office and selected university departments/units/agencies as assigned. Responsibilities may include information sharing, coordination of programs between departments, or administering/processing financial aid for selected groups of students.
  • You will help develop and implement financial aid policies and procedures and administrative practices.
  • You will be responsible for a federal and state financial aid program that includes monthly and year-end reconciliation processes.
  • You will use systems and equipment including: Ellucian (Banner), Microsoft Office tools, Google Suite, COD, NSLDS, and general office equipment.
  • You will provide leadership and oversight of the general front office, under the supervision of the Assistant Director
  • You will represent the office at training and conference opportunities when designated as an attendee and presenting at financial aid events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's Degree in related area of study
  • 3 or more years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience leading projects or staff within financial aid.
  • You must be able to demonstrate there are no restrictions that would prevent you from obtaining authorization to NSLDS, COD and other federal financial aid processing sites.

A consistent hybrid work schedule (some days on campus and some days working remotely) is available for this position at this time.  However, this is subject to change based upon the duties of the position and the needs of the department.
