Responsibilities*

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

  1. Bioinformatics analysis of mass spectrometry-based proteomics data generated in the Proteomics Resource Facility or by external collaborators
  2. Higher level computational analyses, such as integration of proteomics with other omics data, such as RNA-seq data, including across large sample cohorts
  3. Development of new bioinformatics tools and maintenance of the existing computational tools and algorithms for processing and visualizing proteomics data developed in the lab (e.g., Philosopher and FragPipe).
  4. Assist users of the Proteomics Resource Facility and external collaborators with experimental design, statistical analysis, data management and related tasks, as well as with manuscript preparation.

Required Qualifications*

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor degree and over 5 years of experience with developing algorithms and software for mass spectrometry data. Expert knowledge of programming (e.g., Java, GO, and/or Python), and deep knowledge of mass spectrometry data are expected.

Required:

•           Expert knowledge of mass spectrometry data and bioinformatics tools

•           Expert programming skills

•           Track record of publications in the field of computational mass spectrometry

Desired Qualifications*

The successful candidate will hve a Ph.D. degree in a technical field (bioinformatics, computational biology, biochemistry, etc.)

Highly recommended:

•           Experience with implementing and running bioinformatics pipelines on Linux

•           Statistical analysis and data visualization using R

Background Screening
