Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Executive Coordinator provides executive level assistance and support to the Office of the Dean of the A. James Clark School of Engineering. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support the Dean’s schedule including activities, travel, meetings, etc.
Collect and prepare information, meeting materials and presentations
Review and compile materials, data and information needed for reporting and decision making.
Plan special visits and events
Responding to requests for information on behalf of the dean and other senior personnel.
Trouble-shoot problems and emergencies and escalate as appropriate.
*Work independently on special nonrecurring and ongoing special projects

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an administrative capacity in a higher level, fast paced environment is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and be a creative problem solver.
- The ability to respond to various requests simultaneously and provide excellent customer service.
- The ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Apps (Doc, Spreadsheet, Meet, etc.), Zoom, and other applications.
Preferences:
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic environment, is desired.
- Familiarity with UMD administrative systems, policies, and procedures is desired.
- A demonstrated strong commitment to Diversity.
