Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Human Resources Preparer for University Human Resources. This position, under the direct supervision of the Manager of Human Capital Management, reviews actions requested by departments to be submitted for HCM processing; completes data input through templates for daily, individual, salary and data actions for faculty and staff from hire through termination; and submits to the HR Approver for review and submission through the HCM Unit or directly to the Payroll Database.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Reviews documentation for compliance with federal and state regulations, university policy, and collective negotiations agreements before entering the request into the workflow.
  • Monitors workflow and follows up to ensure the completion of tasks within deadlines.
  • Maintains and updates all databases and programs needed to execute actions and track and report on activities.
  • Ensures good customer service and the confidentiality of work, databases, and communications.
  • May assist with the review, update, and documentation of new procedures for work.
  • Runs reports, tracks data, reviews, and works to ensure accurate submissions within deadlines.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • PeopleSoft HRMS experience.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
