Position Highlights | A translational biomedical postdoctoral position is available to help investigate the chronic inflammatory response to stroke and to assist in the development of several promising new treatments for stroke and Alzheimer’s disease related dementias (ADRDs). The Doyle lab is looking for a highly motivated Ph.D. graduate with a neuroimmunology, immunology, neuroscience, or a biomedical science background to complete basic science experiments with genetically modified mice, and preclinical experiments with several promising compounds aimed at new molecular targets. The successful applicant will be required to monitor the functional consequences of target modulation in adult and aged mice recovering from an experimental model of stroke, and in a model of post-stroke mixed dementia. Experience with immunostaining, neuroinflammation, and mouse behavioral experiments would be highly beneficial. This postdoctoral position is especially suited for applicants interested in a future career in the neuroimmunology and neurodegeneration biomedical industry. The applicant will receive close mentoring and help in achieving their ultimate career goal. Opportunities for teaching and community outreach will also be provided.
